Then, I saw you.

I saw you, ethereal and dressed in white,
Watching me as I rest, only just last night.

At first I was scared and thought it to be a dream,
You reassured me that everything was just as it may seem.

You took me to a place full of people crying and in sorrow,
When I asked what this meant, you told me I will understand all tomorrow.

As clear as you presented yourself to me,
The events that followed would be put down in history.

I spoke of what I saw and knew, something I shouldn't have done,
You warned me that people would laugh at me, thinking I was nothing more than dumb.

It was good to see you, to feel your hand on mine,
Something I had been longing for, something that always kept me in line.

I wish I could see you just one more time,
to tell you I love you and that I'm doing just fine.

Maybe I'll get one more chance just to say hi,
But for now my love, I must painfully say goodbye.

There are times and then there is time.

Time flies.

There are times and then there is time. Profound? I think not, more an obvious observation of the movement of life and everything that surrounds us.

Nearly everything we do is governed by some sort of time frame, arriving and departing from work, appointments, music, films, books, food, waiting, sex, periods of gestation and ultimately our very own existence. Depending on how you depart this world and what you may or may not believe in, you more than likely will be remembered by dates arrived and departed, quantifying just how much time you actually spent here.

Time allows us to create things, to dream, to plan, schedule and search, but it is also what reminds us of our mortality and those dreams and plans that need to be achieved before there is no more sand passing from one end of the proverbial hour glass the other. We have enough time. I'm out of time. What time is it? Where did the time go? Statements and questions I would hear every day in my working life. Every little thing we do seems like a race against the clock, a chance to try and beat something that we can't see, feel or touch, yet our lives depend on it, literally.

Love and relationships require time, then again they can all to often consume time, time that will never be returned. These lost moments we so often refer to the "lessons of life." What rubbish. It's completely and utterly lost time that will never be recovered. Bitter? No, realistic. The only lesson that is truly learnt in these moments is to ensure that our clocks are set to "never again".

Death is the one frontier that no one has conquered or been able to quantify where time is concerned. Is there really an eternal after life? What would one do with all that time? One thing that I do know for sure is that the never ending search for whatever it may be you are searching for, will continue as long as that very curious luxury we know as time, prevails. As a matter of fact, I never really thought of it until today, but time truly is the most precious thing any of us have.

(Don't be) Out of time.

Dreams. I really hope these ones DON'T come true...

I'm pretty sure Patti had this hair on before things started to get real.

Ok, so I had two really strange dreams last night, the first had me jumping out of my sleep and the second racing to the bathroom.

The first one involved me, Patti LaBelle and her recent move to Australia. She found me via my blog (as they do) and said she needed to be hooked up with a place to stay, a hair salon and some soulful people to hang with. Things were going great until we went out one night and when she requested that the DJ play "Lady Marmalade", well, lets just say she was shut down and told to find some singles club for that "old music". The next part of the dream was where I jumped out of my sleep, she got angry, real angry and took her wig off. That's when I woke up. I couldn't bare to see her in a hair net.

The second one was where I was at a function of some kind and some older Jewish dentist (yes, I go into great detail even in my dreams) loved my smile and wanted to give me a free check up. Conveniently, his practice was only a lift ride down and he felt the party was boring, so what better thing to do to try and break things up? Give some random an oral once over.

After my visit to the Jewish dentist (not sure why he was Jewish to be honest, maybe I have the guilt's for not doing anything for Chanukah this year and it ended on my Oma's birthday. Coincidence much?) We headed back to the party, where as per usual I was drinking and dancing up a storm. Half way through a very detailed dip in "Proud Mary" a tooth came flying out. I found it and put it in my pocket and resumed with the routine. Always the consummate professional here, especially where Tina Turner is concerned. Before the night was out, I had lost three more with the final one being a moler with a mini x-ray inside it. The Dentist told me that I had some weird "tooth falling out disease", yes that was the term he used. Needless to say, I jumped out of my sleep to check my teeth. All good.

Even when I am sleeping I am over thinking... Weird, weird man I am.
